These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Professions Supplementary to Medicine) Regulations 1974 (the “principal regulations”) which relate to employment by health authorities of persons as chiropodists, dietitians, medical laboratory technicians, occupational therapists, orthoptists, physiotherapists, radiographers or remedial gymnasts.
Regulation 2(1) substitutes words of clarification in regulation 3(1)(a) of the principal regulations. Regulation 2(2) substitutes for regulation 3(1)(b) of the principal regulations a new subparagraph providing that a person not registered under the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960 (c. 66) may be employed by a health authority only if he has never been so registered and was similarly employed on 29th June 1964 and immediately before 1st April 1974.
