The Banking Coordination (Second Council Directive) Regulations 1992

22.  In the Building Societies Act—

(a) section 7(4)(1) (power to raise funds and borrow money);

(b) section 25(5)(2) (the Investor Protection Fund);

(c) section 98(3)(3) (transfers of business: supplementary provisions); and

(d) in Part IV of Schedule 8 (powers to provide services), paragraph 7(4) (interpretation),

shall each have effect as if the reference to an authorised institution for the purposes of, or an institution authorised under, the Banking Act included a reference to a European deposit-taker.
