10.  The following provisions of the Act apply as if vaccination under these Regulations was carried out in exercise of the power to vaccinate in section 16(1) of the Act—

(a)section 16(2) to (17)(1) (treatment after exposure to infection);

(b)section 16A(2) (slaughter of vaccinated animals);

(c)section 62A(3) (slaughter: power of entry).

Section 16 was amended by section 7 of the Animal Health Act 2002 (c. 42).

Section 16A was inserted by section 5 of the Animal Health Act 2002. It was extended to apply to avian influenza by S.I. 2003/1734.

Section 62A was inserted by section 8 of the Animal Health Act 2002.
