2.—(1) The Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 of 5 November 2015 laying down detailed measures for the implementation of the common basic standards on aviation security(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In Chapter 1 (airport security)—
(a)omit point 1.1.3.4;
(b)omit point 1.3; and
(c)in point 1.6.5, omit the final sentence.
(3) Omit Chapter 4 (passengers and cabin baggage).
(4) In Chapter 5 (hold baggage), in point 5.2.1, for “; or” to the end, substitute “.”.
(5) In Chapter 7 (air carrier mail and air carrier materials), omit point 7.1.2.
(6) In Chapter 8 (general provisions), at the end of point 8.0.2, insert—
“In this Chapter ‘LAGs’ means liquids, aerosols and gels, which include pastes, lotions, mixtures of liquids and solids and the contents of pressurised containers. Examples of LAGs include toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrups, shaving foam and other items with similar consistencies.
In this Chapter ‘STEB’ means a security tamper-evident bag.”.
(7) In Chapter 9 (airport supplies), at the end of point 9.0.2, insert—
“(c)‘LAGs’ has the meaning given to it in point 8.0.2; and
(d)‘STEB’ has the meaning given to it in point 8.0.2.”.
(8) In Chapter 12 (security equipment), after point 12.0.1.5, insert—
“12.0.1.6. In this Chapter:
(a)‘LAGs’ has the meaning given to it in point 8.0.2; and
(b)‘LEDS equipment’ means Liquid Explosive Detection System equipment.”.
