Abolition of certain powers of constables to search personsN.I.

54.—(1) F1. . . , there shall cease to have effect any statutory provision made before the date of the coming into operation of this Order in so far as it authorises—

(a)any search by a constable of a person in police detention at a police station; or

(b)an intimate search of a person by a constable;

and any rule of common law which authorises a search such as is mentioned in sub‐paragraph (a) or (b) is abolished.
