The Child Support, Pensions and Social Security (2000 Act) (Commencement No. 8) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002
The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 68(2)(b) of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000() hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security (2000 Act) (Commencement No. 8) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002.
(2) In this Order any reference to a numbered section or Schedule is to the section of, or the Schedule to, the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000 bearing that number.
Appointed days
2.—(1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
(a)section 65 (tests for determining paternity); and
(b)paragraph 7 of Schedule 8 (declaration of status: consequential amendments) and section 66(5) (declaration of status) in so far as it relates to that paragraph
for the purpose only of authorising the making of orders or regulations is 23rd March 2002.
(2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
(a)section 65 in so far as not already in operation;
(b)section 66 and Schedule 8 in so far as not already in operation; and
(c)Part VII of Schedule 9 (repeals) (except in so far as it relates to Article 27(2), Case D of the Child Support (Northern Ireland) Order 1991()) and section 67 in so far as it relates to that Part,
is 15th April 2002.

Explanatory Note
This Order provides for the coming into operation of provisions of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000 as follows—
23rd March 2002 for section 65 and paragraph 7 of Schedule 8 for the purpose of authorising the making of orders or regulations; and
15th April 2002 for sections 65 and 66 and Schedule 8 (in so far as not already in operation) and Part VII of Schedule 9 (except in so far as it relates to Article 27(2), Case D of the Child Support (Northern Ireland) Order 1991).
Note as to Earlier Commencement Orders
The following provisions of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000 have been brought into operation by earlier commencement orders as from the dates shown.
