FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES
The Fire and Rescue Services (2006 Order) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006
Coming into operation
1st July 2006
The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1 (3) of the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 ().
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the Fire and Rescue Services (2006 Order) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
Commencement
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 is 1st July 2006—
(a)Articles 3 to 24;
(b)Articles 53 to 63;
(c)Schedules 1 and 2;
(d)Schedule 3, paragraphs 1 to 18 and 20 to 23; and
(e)Schedule 4 in so far as it relates to—
(i)The Northern Ireland Assembly Disqualification Act 1975();
(ii)Articles 3 to 20 and 49A to 52 of and Schedules 1, 2, 3 and 5 to the Fire Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1984();
(iii)The Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996();
(iv)Articles 3, 5 and 6 of the Fire Services (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998();
(v)The Freedom of Information Act 2000(); and
(vi)The Audit and Accountability (Northern Ireland) Order 2003().

Explanatory Note
This Order brings into operation on 1st July 2006, Articles 3 to 24 and 53 to 63 of, Schedules 1 and 2 to, and parts of Schedules 3 and 4 of the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
