The Personal Accounts Delivery Authority Winding Up (Consequential Provisions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2010

Coming into operation

This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 65(6) of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 20081.

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has made an Order2 containing provision under section 23(7) of the Pensions Act 20073.

Accordingly the Department for Social Development makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority Winding Up (Consequential Provisions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2010 and shall come into operation on 5th July 2010.

Repeals2

The following provisions are repealed—

a

section 17 of the Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 20084 (management of the Authority);

b

sections 65(1) to (5) and 66 to 68 of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (functions of the Authority).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order, which corresponds to provision in an Order (S.I. 2010/911) made by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions under section 23(7) of the Pensions Act 2007, repeals section 17 of the Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and sections 65(1) to (5) and 66 to 68 of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 which relate to the management and functions of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority.
