The Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 106(2) of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2015(1), makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Justice (2015 Act) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015.
(2) In this Order, “the 2015 Act” means the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2015.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the 2015 Act is 1st September 2015 —
(a)section 65(2)(h) (VOPO notification requirements: initial notification); and
(b)section 69(1) (VOPO notification requirements: travel outside the United Kingdom).
3. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the 2015 Act is 30th September 2015 —
(a)section 6(2) and (3) (single jurisdiction: consequential amendments); and
(b)section 95 (powers of court security officers).

This Order brings into operation certain provisions of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2015 (c.9 (N.I)) (“the Act”).
The provisions of the Act set out in Article 2 come into operation on 1st September 2015.
The provisions being commenced in sections 65 and 69 are enabling powers to allow supporting secondary legislation to be prepared that will facilitate the full coming into operation in due course of the Violent Offence Prevention Orders provisions in Part 8 of the Act.
The provisions of the Act set out in Article 3 come into operation on 30th September 2015.
The provisions being commenced in section 6 are enabling powers to allow supporting secondary legislation to be prepared that will facilitate the full coming into operation in due course of the single jurisdiction provisions in Part 1 of the Act.
The provisions in section 95 amend Schedule 3 (court security) to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004 (c.4) so that the powers exercisable by a court security officer in a relevant building also extend to the boundary of the land on which the building stands.
