Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(2) of the Tribunals (Scotland) Act 20141 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 11(1) of that Act, they have obtained the approval of the Lord President for the making of these Regulations and have consulted such other persons as they considered appropriate.

In accordance with section 79(2)(a) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Chambers) Amendment Regulations 2018 and come into force on 22nd November 2018.

Amendment of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Chambers) Regulations 20162

The First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Chambers) Regulations 20162 are amended as follows.

In regulation 2 (chambers of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland)—

a

at the end of paragraph (d) omit “and”; and

b

at the end insert—

the Social Security Chamber.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Chambers) Regulations 2016, which provide for the division of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland into chambers. A new chamber is brought into being, to be known as the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland Social Security Chamber.

A Partial Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared and placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre. Copies may be obtained from the Scottish Government Social Security Directorate.
