Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2008.

(2) In this Order–

“the Act” means the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006;

“the principal Act” means the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997(1); and

“the Schedule” means the Schedule to this Order.

(3) The terms “strategic development plan area” and “strategic development plan authority” have the meaning given in section 277(1) of the principal Act when that Act is amended by sections 2 and 54(17)(a)(i) of the Act.

Commencement

2.—(1) Sections 2 (development plans) and 54(16)(b)(i), (c) and (f) (further amendment of the principal Act) come into force on 19th May 2008 only for the purposes of enabling orders or regulations to be made and directions or guidance to be issued.

(2) The provisions of the Act which are specified in column 1 of the Schedule (and the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of the Schedule) come into force on 25th June 2008 for the particular purpose specified in column 3 of the Schedule in relation to each provision.
