1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Continuation in force of Local Plans) (Highland) (Scotland) Order 2012 and comes into force on 1st April 2012.
(2) In this Order, “new site specific land allocation” means a proposal contained in the Highland-wide Local Development Plan(1) which allocates land for development, or a class of development, by reference to a specific site or area of land described in that local development plan.
The proposed Highland-wide Local Development Plan was published, and the Highland Council’s intention to adopt it was advertised, on 7th March 2012 in accordance with section 19(10) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (c.8). The proposed Highland-wide Local Development Plan and the local plans specified in article 2(1) can be viewed at http://www.highland.gov.uk/yourenvironment/planning/developmentplans/ and at the main office of The Highland Council, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness IV3 5NX.
