In accordance with section 10 of the International Organisations Act 1968 (“the Act”)1 a draft of this Order was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by sections 1(7)2 and 10(3) of the Act, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered as follows—

This Order may be cited as the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) Miscellaneous Provisions Order 2006 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

The Orders set out in the Schedule to this Order shall have effect subject to the amendments specified in that Schedule.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order makes amendments to the Orders set out in the Schedule consequent upon the coming into force of the Civil Partnership Act 2004. The Order confers privileges and immunities on civil partners to the same extent, and in the same circumstances, as such privileges and immunities have been conferred on spouses of individuals specified in the Orders set out in the Schedule.
