21. Rule 63 (party candidate)(1) applies as if—
(a)after paragraph (2) there were inserted—
“(2A) Neither the countermand of the poll at the local election nor the direction that that poll be abandoned affects the poll at the European Parliamentary election.”;
(b)in paragraph (3), after “with respect to the” there were inserted “local”.
Rules 63 and 64 were inserted by S.I. 2010/2977. In addition, section 4 of, and the Schedule to, the Elections Act 2001 (c. 7), as amended by S.I. 2010/2977, made a non-textual amendment when local elections are combined with parliamentary elections.
