Creation of trunk roads

The Secretary of State may direct that any road constructed by him on land to which this Part of the new towns code applies shall, on such date as may be specified in the direction, become a trunk road within the meaning of F2the Highways Act 1980; and the provisions of that Act relating to trunk roads shall apply to the roads accordingly.
