Project licences authorising the use of cats, dogs and equidae

A project licence that would authorise the application of regulated procedures to cats, dogs or equidae must not be granted unless the Secretary of State has verified that Condition 9 is met.

Condition 9 is that the purpose of the programme of work to be specified in the licence can be achieved—
a
only by the use of cats, dogs or equidae; or
b
only by the use of cats, dogs, equidae and other animals which it is not practicable to obtain.
