23U.K.Subject to the provisions of this Act the appropriate authority may enter upon, take and use for the purposes of this Act so much of the subsoil and under-surface of any highway within the limits of deviation for their scheduled works as shall be required for the purpose of the construction or maintenance of those works, without being required to acquire that subsoil and under-surface or any interest therein.
