The Coal Authority
4CAF1Further powers relating to subsidence and water discharge

The Authority may take such action as it considers appropriate (if any)—
a
with respect to subsidence arising otherwise than in connection with coal-mining;
b
for the purpose of preventing, or mitigating the effect of, the discharge of water other than from a coal mine into or on to any land or into any controlled waters.

The powers conferred on the Authority by subsection (1) do not affect any other function of the Authority.
