The surveyor may appoint such persons as he thinks fit to assist him in carrying out his functions.

References in this Schedule to the surveyor in the context of—

a

being afforded any such facilities as are mentioned in paragraph 3, or

b

carrying out an inspection under paragraph 4,

include a person so appointed.
