Section 13 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 is amended as follows.

After subsection (1A) insert—

Section 11 also applies to a lease of a dwelling-house in England which is an introductory tenancy for a fixed term of seven years or more granted on or after the day on which paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 comes fully into force.

In subsection (1B)—

a

for “In subsection (1A)” substitute “ In this section ”, and

b

after the definition of “assured tenancy” insert—

“introductory tenancy” has the same meaning as in Chapter 1 of Part 5 of the Housing Act 1996;
