The Commons Registration (Time Limits) (Amendment) Order 1970

The Minister of Housing and Local Government and the Secretary of State, in exercise of their respective powers under sections 1(2) and 20(1) of the Commons Registration Act 1965 (hereinafter called “the Act”), as read with the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources (Dissolution) Order 19671, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Commons Registration (Time Limits) (Amendment) Order 1970, and shall come into operation on 25th March 1970.

The period for registrations under section 4 of the Act, which, by virtue of article 2 of the Commons Registration (Time Limits) Order 19662, began on 2nd January 1967 and was to have ended on 31st March 1970, is hereby extended until 31st July 1970, and, accordingly, for the words “31st March 1970” in that article there shall be substituted the words “31st July 1970”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order extends until 31st July 1970 the period for registrations under section 4 of the Commons Registration Act 1965 which, by virtue of the Commons Registration (Time Limits) Order 1966, was to have ended on 31st March 1970. It does not affect the last date for the submission of applications for registration under section 4, which was fixed by the 1966 Order at 2nd January 1970.
