The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6(3) of the Civil Evidence Act 1972, hereby makes the following Order:—
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Civil Evidence Act 1972 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1974.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
2. Sections 1 and 4(2) to (5) of the Civil Evidence Act 1972 shall come into force on 1st September 1974 for the purposes of any civil proceedings (other than proceedings in bankruptcy) in a county court.

This Order brings the Civil Evidence Act 1972 fully into operation on 1st September 1974 for the purpose of proceedings in a county court (except bankruptcy proceedings).
