Coming into Operation
The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 159(1) and 160(1) of the Road Traffic Act 19601, and now vested in him2, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with the provisions of section 260(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport (Northern Ireland Passenger Services) (Amendment) Regulations 1981 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1981.

On and after 1st April 1981 the reference in Regulation 4 (Regular and shuttle services) of the Road Transport (Northern Ireland Passenger Services) Regulations 1980 to Part III of the Road Traffic Act 1960 and Part I of the Transport Act 1980 having effect as if a new section were substituted for section 127 shall be construed as a reference to those Parts of those Acts having effect as if sections 17 and 24 of the Act of 1980 were omitted and a corresponding new section were substituted for section 19 of the Act of 1980.

On and after 1st April 1981 the reference in Regulation 5 (Occasional Services) of the said Regulations of 1980 to Part III of the said Act of 1960 and Part I of the said Act of 1980 having effect as if section 127 of the said Act of 1960 were omitted shall be construed as a reference to those Parts of those Acts having effect as if sections 17, 19 and 24 of the said Act of 1980 were omitted.

On and after 1st April 1981 any reference in Regulation 6 (Applications for issue of, and fees payable in respect of, authorisations) to section 127 of the said Act of 1960 shall be construed as a reference to section 19 of the said Act of 1980.
