Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order modifies, in relation to any fisheries within the area of the North West Water Authority, paragraph 32 of Schedule 3 to the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975. The North West Water Authority is now empowered to make byelaws requiring persons fishing for eels otherwise than with rod and line to send to the water authority returns of any eels which they have taken, or a statement that they have taken no eels.
