Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this order in exercise of powers conferrd by section 10 of the Highways Act 19801, and now vested in him2, and of all other enabling powers:

The highway which the Secretary of State has constructed along the route described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

The new trunk road is indicated by solid black shading on the deposited plan.

In this Order:—

all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.

“the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/2E/270 marked “The A405 Trunk Road (Bricket Wood Junction) (Trunking) Order 1988”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

“the new trunk road” means the highway mentioned in article 1 of this Order; and

iii

“the trunk road” means the A405 Trunk Road.

This Order shall come into force on 1st September 1988 and may be cited as the A405 Trunk Road (Bricket Wood Junction) (Trunking) Order 1988.

SCHEDULEROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD

A route from a point 65 metres south-west of the south-western end of the A405/M25 interchange (Bricket Wood Junction) in a generally north-eastward direction to a point 80 metres north-east of the north-eastern end of that interchange including the lengths of highway comprised in the roundabout at that interchange.
