The Broadcasting (Transfer Date and Nominated Company) Order 1990

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 127(1) and (2) of the Broadcasting Act 1990(1), I hereby make the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Transfer Date and Nominated Company) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.

2.  1st January 1991 is hereby appointed as the transfer date for the purposes of section 127(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990.

3.  National Transcommunications Limited, being a company formed and registered under the Companies Act 1985(2), is hereby nominated for the purposes of section 127(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 1st January 1991 as the transfer date for the purposes of section 127(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1990. Under that section there shall come into force on the day so appointed a scheme made under Schedule 9 to that Act providing for the division of the property, rights and liabilities of the Independent Broadcasting Authority between the Independent Television Commission, the Radio Authority (established under Parts I and III, respectively, of that Act) and a company nominated for the purposes of section 127(1) of that Act. Article 3 of this Order nominates National Transcommunications Limited as that company.
