Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 36(1) and 37(1) of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 19861 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) Revocation Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 10th January 1994.

Revocation2

The following Regulations are hereby revoked:–

a

The Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) (No. 2) Regulations 19882;

b

The Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) Amendment Regulations 19913; and

c

The Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) Amendment Regulations 19924.

These Regulations relate to the financial limits upon the cost of providing advice and assistance including assistance by way of representation (ABWOR), without the prior approval of the Scottish Legal Aid Board.

The Regulations revoke the Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) (No. 2) Regulations 1988 (S.I.1988/2014), the Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) Amendment Regulations 1991 (S.I.1991/746) and the Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Prospective Cost) Amendment Regulations 1992 (S.I.1992/528).
