The Combined Probation Areas (North Wales) Order 1997
1.
This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas (North Wales) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st January 1998.

(a)
omitting the entries in respect of the petty sessions areas of Bangor, Caernarfon/Gwyrfai, Flint, Hawarden and Mold;
(b)
inserting, in alphabetical order—
(i)
in column 1 “Arfon” and corresponding to this in column 3 “2”;
(ii)
in column 1 “Flintshire” and corresponding to this in column 3 “3”.

The three members of the North Wales Probation Committee appointed before 1st January 1998 by the justices for the petty sessions areas of Flint, Hawarden and Mold shall continue in office as if appointed by the justices for the new petty sessions area of Flintshire4.

This Order amends the Combined Probation Areas Order 1986 (S.I. 1986/1713) to take account of the re-organisation of five of the petty sessions areas within the North Wales Probation Area into two new petty sessions areas effected by the Petty Sessional Divisions (Arfon, Flintshire and Rhuddlan) Order 1997 (S.I. 1997/2630), the relevant provisions of which come into force on 1st January 1998.
