The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 67(2) and 77(4) of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Commencement) (Section 67) Order 1999.
2. Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 shall have effect in relation to any proceedings for the purpose of which no witness summons has been issued under section 2 of the Criminal Procedure (Attendance of Witnesses) Act 1965(2) before 1st April 1999.

This Order provides that section 67 of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (witness summons: securing attendance of witness) shall have effect in relation to proceedings for the purpose of which no witness summons has been issued before 1st April 1999.
