In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 187(5) and (6), 231(2) and 232(5) of the Education Reform Act 1988(1) the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) (Amendment) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st September 2000.

Amendment of the principal Order

2.  In Article 4(7) of the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) Order 1992(2) (which imposes a condition regarding the bringing into use of the former Wandsworth Boys' Secondary School, Sutherland Grove, SW18 as a site for a school) for “1st September 2000” there shall be substituted “1st September 2003”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends article 4(7) of the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) Order 1992 as amended by the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) (Modification and Amendment) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/723), which imposes a condition that part of the site of the former Wandsworth Boys' Secondary School, Sutherland Grove, SW18 should be brought into use by the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth as a site for a school by 1st September 2000.

A new date of 1st September 2003 is substituted as the date by which the part of the site subject to the condition must be brought into use as the site for a new school or as the site for a school transferring to that site.
