Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 8 of the Consumer Protection Act 19871, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows—
Title, commencement and extent1

This Order may be cited as the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (Product Liability) (Modification) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 4th December 2000.

This Order extends to England and Wales only2.
Modification of Part I of the Consumer Protection Act 19872

The following modifications shall be made of Part I of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

In section 1(2), the definition of “agricultural produce” shall be omitted.
3
Section 2(4) shall be omitted.
