This instrument is made for the purpose of correcting an error in the Schedule to S.I. 2000/1420 and is being issued, free of charge, to all known recipients of that statutory instrument.

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17 and 26 of the Local Government Act 1992(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the District of South Shropshire (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2000.
(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.
2. The District of South Shropshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2000(2) is amended, in column (3) of the Schedule, in respect of the column (1) entry “Worthen”, by the substitution, for the numeral “1”, of the numeral “2”.

This Order corrects an error in the District of South Shropshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2000, which has effect in relation to local government elections to be held on and after 1st May 2003. It provides for two councillors to be elected for the Worthen ward.
1992 c. 19. Section 17 is amended by section 39(4) and (5) of the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 (c. 29).
