Citation, interpretation and extent1

This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No. 7 and Transitional, Transitory and Savings (England)) Order 2001.

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires—

  • “the Act” means the Care Standards Act 2000;

  • “the 1989 Act” means the Children Act 19892; and

  • “Schedule 26” means Schedule 26 to the School Standards and Framework Act 19983 (inspection of nursery education).

References in this Order to Parts, sections and Schedules are, unless the contrary indication appears, references to Parts, sections and Schedules of the 1989 Act.
