Section 181 of the Companies Act 1989 (power to apply sections 177 to 180 to other cases) is amended as follows.

In subsection (1), for the words from the beginning to “includes” substitute “A power to which this subsection applies includes the”.

After subsection (2) insert—

Subsection (1) applies to the powers of the Secretary of State and the Treasury to act jointly under—
a
sections 170, 172 and 176 of this Act; and
b
section 301 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (supervision of certain contracts).
