Further power of inspector to hold pre-inquiry meetings

9.—(1) Where no pre-inquiry meeting is held pursuant to rule 6, an inspector may hold one if the inspector thinks it necessary.

(2) An inspector must give not less than 2 weeks’ written notice of a pre-inquiry meeting the inspector proposes to hold under paragraph (1) to—

(a)the appellant;

(b)the local planning authority;

(c)any person known at the date of the notice to be entitled to take part in the inquiry; and

(d)any other person whose presence at the pre-inquiry meeting appears to the inspector to be desirable.

(3) Rule 11(6) applies to a pre-inquiry meeting held under this rule.
