DENTISTS
The Dental Auxiliaries (Amendment) Regulations 2003
Coming into force as provided in regulation 1
Whereas a draft of these Regulations, having been previously approved by the Privy Council, has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 45(9) of the Dentists Act 1984() and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, the General Dental Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 45(7) of the Dentists Act 1984 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Dental Auxiliaries (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on the day after the date on which they are made.
Amendment of regulation 6 of the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986
2. In regulation 6 of the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986() (fees prescribed by the General Dental Council), for the amount “£25.00” there shall be substituted “£68.00”.

Explanatory Note
These Regulations amend the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986 to increase, from the day after the making of these Regulations, the fee prescribed by the General Dental Council for retention of a name in a roll of dental auxiliaries from £25 to £68 (an increase of 172%).
