(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Education (London Residuary Body) (Property Transfer) (No 4) Order 1991.

The 1991 Order (as amended by S.I.1994/3078, article 2 and S.I.1998/1239, article 1) transferred land described as the former New River School, Clissold Road, N16 to the Council of the London Borough of Hackney. The transfer was subject to the condition that by 1st January 1995 the land was to be brought into use wholly or mainly for the purposes of the transferee council’s functions as the local education authority for the area. The Order further provided that if the land were not so brought into use it should be disposed of and the proceeds of sale (after deductions) divided between the Councils of the inner London boroughs and the Common Council of the City of London.

The Order amends the condition by extending the date by which the Council of the London Borough of Hackney should fulfil the condition to 1st April 2007.
