The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 47 of the Prison Act 1952(1) hereby makes the following Rules:

(1)

1952 c. 52. Section 47 was affected by an amendment to section 52(2) of that Act by section 66(4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1967 (c. 80) and was extended by section 16B of the Prison Act 1952 (as inserted by section 1 of the Prisons (Alcohol Testing) Act 1997) (c. 38)). There are other amendments which are not relevant to the subject matter of these Rules.
