The Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2006

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 29(1) and (2) of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 20041, makes the following Order:

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2006.

Provisions coming into force2

Section 13(1)(2) and (4) (offences: entering into arrangements with gangmasters) of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 comes into force on 1st December 2006 for purposes related to work falling within section 3(1)(a) and (c).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force section 13(1)(2) and (4) of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004 in respect of agricultural work and processing or packaging (i) any produce derived from agricultural work, or (ii) shellfish, fish or products derived from shellfish or fish. Offences in relation to gathering shellfish will be commenced at a later date.
