Commencement

2.—(1) Apart from the provisions mentioned in paragraph (2), the 2006 Act comes into force on 1st October 2007.

(2) Those provisions are section 1 of, and the Schedule to, the 2006 Act, so far as they insert into the Public Order Act 1986(1) the following provisions—

(a)section 29B(3) (power to arrest person suspected of offence under that section);

(b)section 29H(2) (power of courts in Scotland to authorise entry and search); and

(c)section 29I(2)(b) and (4) (power of courts in Scotland to order forfeiture).

1986 c. 64. Section 1 of, and the Schedule to, the 2006 Act insert a new Part 3A (consisting of sections 29A to 29N) into the 1986 Act which makes provision about offences involving stirring up hatred against persons on religious grounds.
