The Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No.1 and Appointed Day) Order 2007
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(6), (7) and (9) of the Greater London Authority Act 2007(), makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No.1 and Appointed Day) Order 2007.
(2) In this Order—
“the Act” means the Greater London Authority Act 2007.
Provisions coming into force on 30th October 2007
2. The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 30th October 2007—
(a)section 15;
(b)section 16; and
(c)section 57 and Schedule 2, so far as they give effect to the repeal of paragraph 15(1)(a) of Schedule 4 to the Greater London Authority Act 1999().
Appointed day for purposes of section 59(6) of the Act
3. 30th October 2007 is the day appointed for the purposes of section 59(6) of the Act (which provides that sections 12 to 14 have effect in relation to financial years beginning on or after an appointed day).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Article 2 of this Order brings into force the following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 2007—
Article 3 of this Order appoints 30th October 2007 for the purposes of section 59(6) of the Act, which provides that sections 12 to 14 of the Act have effect in relation to financial years beginning on or after an appointed day.
Section 12 provides for separate component budgets for the Assembly and the Mayor. Section 13 concerns the procedure for determining the Authority’s consolidated budget requirement and section 14 relates to substitute calculations.
