The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 58(4)(a) of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009(1).
The Lord Chancellor has satisfied the requirements of section 58(16) of that Act by transferring the functions of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal under section 30(1) of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007(2).
1. This Order may be cited as the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 (Commencement No.2) Order 2011.
2. The date appointed for the coming into force of section 53 (transfer of certain immigration judicial review applications) of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 is 8th August 2011.

This Order brings into force section 53 of the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 (“the Act”) on 8th August 2011.
The Act received Royal Assent on 21st July 2009 when, by virtue of section 58, sections 1 to 38 and part of the Schedule came into force.
