EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This is the sixth commencement order made under the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 (c. 24) (“the Act”).

This Order commences certain provisions of the Act on 1st April 2014 and certain provisions on 6th April 2014.

Article 2 commences, on 1st April 2014, provisions relating to the Competition and Markets Authority and competition reform.

Article 3(a), (b), (d) and (e) commences, on 6th April 2014, provisions which amend the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (c. 9) to provide for heritage partnership agreements, listed and local listed building consent orders and certificates of lawfulness of proposed works in England.

Article 3(c) commences, on 6th April 2014, section 66 of the Act which repeals section 138 of the Equality Act 2010 (c. 15), removing the statutory mechanism and forms for obtaining information as regards alleged contraventions of the Equality Act 2010.

The Schedule contains transitional provisions and savings relating to the provisions of the Act commenced by article 2.
