CHAPTER 2 U.K. AMENDMENT OF THE HEALTH AND PERSONAL SOCIAL SERVICES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2001

111.  The Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001 M1 is amended in accordance with this Chapter.

Amendment of section 2 U.K.

112.—(1) Section 2 (“social care worker”, etc.) M2 is amended as follows.

(2) For subsection (5), substitute—

“(5) “The General Systems Regulations” means the European Union (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 2015 (S.I. 2015/2059).”.

Amendment of section 5A U.K.

113.—(1) Section 5A (visiting social workers from relevant European States) M3 is amended as follows.

(2) In subsection (2), for “8” substitute “ 12 ”.

(3) In subsection (5)—

(a) for “17” substitute “ 24 ”;

(b) for “8” substitute “ 12 ”.

Amendment of section 15 U.K.

114.—(1) Section 15 (appeals to the Care Tribunal) M4 is amended as follows.

(2) In subsection (2)(b), after “decision” insert “ or, in the case of an appeal from a decision falling within subsection (3)(c), direct that the alert be withdrawn or amended ”.

(3) In subsection (3)—

(a) in paragraph (a), omit the “and” at the end;

(b) in paragraph (b), at the end, insert “ , and ”;

(c) after paragraph (b), insert—

“(c) a decision under regulation 67 of the General Systems Regulations to send an alert about a person.”.
