The Secretary of State M1, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1)(a) and (3)(a), 3(1)(a), (b)(i), (d)(i), 5, 8, 9(2)(b), 13, 15(2)(a) and (b), (3) and (6), 16, 17(2) to (9), 19, 20, 21(1), 54(1) and (2)(a), 56 and 62(4) and (5) of, and paragraphs 2(a)(i), 4(a)(i), 5(a)(i), 6(a)(i), 10(a)(i), 11(a)(i), 13(a), (g), (k), (m) and (w), 14(a), 20, 21, and 27 of Schedule 1 to, the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 M2, and having decided, upon consideration of the matters set out in section 56(1) of that Act, that it is appropriate to do so, makes the following Regulations:C1

The power to make regulations under Part 1 of the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 is conferred on an “appropriate Minister”. Section 1(9)(a) of the Act defines an “appropriate Minister” as including the Secretary of State.
