The Dartford (Electoral Changes) Order 2023

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2) and (3)
Under section 92(2) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 20071, Dartford Borough Council (“the Council”) made recommendations in a review to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England2 for the related alteration of the boundary between two district wards within the Council’s area.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of that Act.
Citation, commencement, extent and application1

This Order may be cited as the Dartford (Electoral Changes) Order 2023.

This article comes into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.

Article 2 comes into force—
a
for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made.
b
for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England3 in 2023.

This Order extends to England and Wales but applies in relation to England only.
Alteration of borough ward boundary2
The part of the parish of Swanscombe & Greenhithe that becomes unparished by virtue of the Borough of Dartford (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 20224 ceases to be part of the Swanscombe borough ward and becomes part of the Ebbsfleet borough ward.
