The Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No.11) (Wales) Order 2003

The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 118(6) and 122 of the Care Standards Act 20001 hereby makes the following Order:
Citation interpretation and application1

This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No.11) (Wales) Order 2003.

In this Order—
“Act” (“Deddf”) means the Care Standards Act 2000;
“Council” (“Cyngor”) means the Care Council for Wales established by section 54(1)(b) of the Act.

This Order applies in relation to Wales.
Appointed days2

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 116 of and paragraph 26(1) and (3) of Schedule 4 to the Act to the extent that they insert “68” in section 9(2)(d) of the Protection of Children Act 19992 is the day after the day on which this Order is made.

1st April 2003 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
a
section 57 to the extent that it is not already in force;
b
section 60(b) to the extent that it relates to rules of the Council as to the documentary and other evidence to be produced by those applying for registration and is not already in force;
c
section 104(1) to the extent that it relates to—
i
section 104(2)(b) in so far as it inserts section 113(3E)(b) in the Police Act 19973;
ii
section 104(3)(a) in so far as it inserts section 115(5)(eb) in the Police Act 1997.

30th April 2003 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act—
a
section 116 and Schedule 4 to the extent that they relate to paragraph 27 of that Schedule;
b
section 117(2) and Schedule 6 to the extent that they relate to the Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act 1999.

1st June 2003 is the day appointed for the coming into force of sections 56, 58 to 60, 62, 64(2) to (5), 65, 68 and 69 of the Act to the extent that they are not already in force.
