The Welsh Ministers are designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972, the Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations:

Title, application and commencement

1.  The title of these Regulations is the Products of Animal Origin (Disease Control) (Wales) (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 2009; they apply in relation to Wales and come into force on 10 August 2009.

Amendment

2.  In regulation 3 (Restricted animal, restricted poultry and restricted meat: definitions) of the Products of Animal Origin (Disease Control) (Wales) Regulations 2008(3), in paragraph 8 of the English version, for “protected” substitute “protection”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend regulation 3 of the Products of Animal Origin (Disease Control) (Wales) Regulations 2008 (S.I. 2008 No. 1275), by substituting “protection” for “protected” in paragraph 8 of the English version.
