(1)In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—
“1972 Act” means the Local Government Act 1972 (c. 70),
“2011 Measure” means the Local Government (Wales) Measure 2011 (nawm 4),
“community meeting” is a meeting of the local government electors for a community convened under section 27(1) of the 1972 Act,
[F1“enactment” means any of the following or a provision of any of the following—
an Act or Measure of Senedd Cymru;
an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom;
any subordinate legislation.]
“local authority” means a principal council or a community council,
“local government area” means a principal area or a community,
[F2“member of a UK legislature” means—
a Member of the Senedd;
a member of the House of Commons;
a member of the House of Lords;
a member of the Scottish Parliament;
a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly,]
“modify”, in relation to an enactment, includes amend or repeal,
“principal area” means a county or a county borough in Wales,
“principal council” means a county council or a county borough council in Wales.
[F2“registered political party” means a party registered under Part 2 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c. 41),]
[F2“special adviser” means a special adviser within the meaning of—
Chapter 1 of Part 1 of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 (c. 25), or
section 1 of the Civil Service (Special Advisers) Act (Northern Ireland) 2013 (c. 8 (N.I.)).]
