Provisions with respect to certain summary offences and penalties

26Extension of summary jurisdiction in respect of malicious damage.

(1)

If any person wilfully or maliciously commits any damage to any real or personal property whatsoever, either of a public or private nature, and the amount of the damage does not, in the opinion of the court, [F1 exceedF2 £1000F2, he shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceedingF3 level 3 on the standard scaleF3.]

28Amendment of the Summary Jurisdiction (Ireland) Act, 1851.

(1)

A person convicted by a court of summary jurisdiction of an offence under—

(a)

paragraphs 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 11 of section ten,

(b)

section twelve,

(c)

paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of section thirteen,

of the Summary Jurisdiction (Ireland) Act, 1851 M1, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five pounds, and accordingly … residue amends ss.10,12,13 of 1851 c.92
